Booking & Payments
How do I book a trip?
Select your trip, choose your dates, and pay a deposit to secure your spot. You'll receive a confirmation email with everything you need.
How much is the deposit?
Deposits are typically 20% of the full price of the trip per person. The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before departure.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel 60+ days out for a full refund minus deposit. 30-60 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: no refund, but you can transfer your spot to someone else.
Is travel insurance required?
Strongly recommended but not mandatory. You'll sign a waiver confirming OUTRN isn't liable for injuries, illness, or cancellations. If something goes wrong in the outback, you'll want coverage — we can suggest providers if needed/
Trip Details
What's included in the trip price?
Accommodation, most meals, all running experiences, local transfers, and guides. Flights to/from the destination are not included.
How many people are on each trip?
It ranges from 12-18 per trip. Small enough to feel like a crew!
What's the accommodation like?
Depends on the trip and your preference. For Uluru, you can choose between shared dorms or private rooms; pricing reflects the difference. We'll always tell you exactly what's available on each trip page.
Are meals included?
Most meals are included. We'll tell you exactly which ones on your trip page. Expect good food!
What if I have dietary requirements?
We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergies. Let us know when booking and we'll sort it.
Fitness & Preparation
How fit do I need to be?
You should be comfortable running 10-15km on consecutive days at a conversational pace. These aren't races; no one's tracking your time.
What if I'm slower than everyone else?
Then you're slower. There's no drop-off time. We run together, regroup often, and no one gets left behind.
Do I need trail running experience?
Depends on the trip. Uluru is mostly flat, hard-packed trails; road shoes work fine. Blue Mountains will be more technical. Each trip page specifies what you need.
How should I train before the trip?
Build your weekly volume to include back-to-back run days. If you can comfortably run 12-15km one day and 8-10km the next, you're ready.
Will there be support on the runs?
Yes. Our guides run with the group. We carry extra hydration, know the routes, and have comms if anything goes sideways.
Logistics
Do you book flights for me?
No. You book your own flights; we'll tell you exactly when and where to arrive. This keeps costs transparent and lets you use points or extend your trip.
How do I get from the airport to the accommodation?
Depends on the trip. For Uluru, there's a free shuttle service from the airport to the resort; timing depends on your flight. We'll confirm the details and logistics once you've booked. No surprise costs, no figuring it out yourself.
What do I need to pack?
Running gear for 3-4 days, layers for temperature changes, sun protection, and a small daypack. You will receive a detailed packing list after booking.
What's the weather like?
Varies by destination and season. Each trip page has specific climate info. Short version: we run at the best times of year for each location.

About OUTRN
Who runs OUTRN?
OUTRN is founded by a runner, not a travel agent. The trips exist because no one was building what runners actually wanted: multi-day adventures where runs, good people, and great experiences are the point.
Are your guides actually runners?
You bet! Everyone on our team runs. Some of us prefer shorter distances, but others, find the beauty in the ultramarathons. Chat to us on the trip!
What makes OUTRN different from a running tour?
Running tours are city jogs between sightseeing. We build multi-day adventures where running IS the experience; iconic landscapes, small crews, no logistics for you to manage.
Do you only operate in Australia?
For now, yes. Uluru is our flagship, with Blue Mountains and Great Ocean Road coming soon... International routes are on the radar.
